Nampa, Idaho Office Max Store Closing

If you live near Nampa, Idaho, be sure to swing by the Nampa location of Office Max to snag some great deals on office supplies.

The Nampa store will be closing in June, and they have ALL their merchandise store-wide marked at 50% or more off retail price!

My husband and I were in there yesterday and found the toner cartridges for our laser printer marked at half price, so we were thrilled.

I've got some yard sale money set aside, and I'm planning to head back to Office Max sometime this weekend to purchase some home organization items to help get my closets under control. They had TONS of really high quality organizational tools all marked at least 50% off, so I figured this is my chance to make my closets look and function like something out of Real Simple magazine.... without breaking the bank.

Awesome Deal: Radio Flyer Classic Rocking Horse for only $29.99!

Looking for a really special baby shower gift or young child's gift at an AWESOME price? Right now on Amazon, you can get this Radio Flyer Classic Wood Rocking Horse for only $29.99! This usually sells for over $100, so this is a steal!

I know it's only May, but it's not too early to start thinking about Christmas gifts or birthday/ baby shower gifts that you have coming up in the next several months. I've found that snagging great deals on gifts when they come along saves my family a lot over the course of a year! Plus, when I buy at 75% to 80% off normal retail, I'm able to get a much nicer gift than I would otherwise be able to afford!

$5/$25 Walgreens Coupon: 5/20 & 5/21 only

This Wednesday and Thursday only, get $5 off of your purchase of $25 or more at Walgreens. Go here to print your coupon!

Your total has to reach $25 after all coupons and store sales have been applied and before tax. So your best bet is to ring up a transaction with lots Register Rewards items.

I usually find that the $20 out of pocket (after the $5 off) is just too much to justify using this coupon. But occasionally there's a deal scenario or a particular product that makes these coupons worthwhile.

If I come up with a scenario that looks like a great deal, I'll let you know. If anybody has any ideas for maximizing this Q, I'd love to hear!

$1 Old Navy Flip Flop Day: May 23rd

This Saturday (May 23), Old Navy will be hosting a huge sale on flip flops: all solid colored flip flops will cost only $1 all day!

I've gone to this sale in years past at Old Navy, and here's what I learned from my experience: Go early in the day if you want a good selection of colors and sizes. At a buck a pop, the popular colors and common sizes go quickly.

Enjoy this nice little frugal summer "kick-off"!

Hat tip to A Thrifty Mom.

Regional Blog Resources

I'm absolutely thrilled that so many people nationwide are regularly visiting The Frugal Muse to cash in on great deals! Just check out this map, which shows where just our last 100 visitors came from (screen shot taken last night at 10 p.m.):

Coast to Coast! Pretty cool, huh!?

Most of the deals that I share here on The Frugal Muse apply nationwide, but some are regional in nature. I think that every great couponer has an extensive list of blogs they check at least once a day to stay up-to-date on the latest deals.

Of course, I love to see you all at The Frugal Muse everyday... but I also want to help you find blogs that will help you score great regional deals, too!

Here are a few regional blogs (which also list national deals, too, of course) I've found that I thought I'd pass on to you:

For Oklahomans: (esp. Tulsa Metro):

For Arkansans:

For Idahoans:

For Canadians:
Frugal Family Life

I would love to keep expanding this list so that it includes all fifty states and even other countries. So let me know if you have a blog based in your region that you'd love to see added to the list!

Great P.F. Chang's Deal

From now through June 14, purchase any entree at P.F. Chang's and get a free order of their famous lettuce wraps!

Um.... yes, please! I love P.F. Chang's!

Go here to sign up for their e-mails and you will receive a coupon in your inbox. My husband took me to P.F. Chang's last week for an early anniversary dinner, and the manager actually told us that this promotion was in the works. Glad to see it's up and running!

The portion sizes of their entrees are large, so one entree and an order of lettuce wraps would definitely be enough to feed at least two people. My entree there last week cost about $12.95– and when you consider their portion sizes combined with this promotion, this deal could make for a very nice and inexpensive night out!
Hat tip to Hip 2 Save.

*UPDATE* A Dozen Krispy Kremes for $.99!

*UPDATE* Apparently, this promotion will be good only in the following markets in Texas: Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Corpus Christi and Laredo. So if you live in one of these Texas areas, you're in luck!

On Saturday, May 23, you can pick up a dozen original glazed donuts for only $.99 at your local Krispy Kreme. What a yummy way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend!

As always, you may want to call ahead to your local Krispy Kreme to make sure they are participating in this promotion!

Just Because I think this is Awesome

Did you know that every spring in San Francisco, there's a huge event called BYOBW (Bring Your Own Big Wheel)?! It's an all-out race where adults ride Big Wheels down the curvy streets of San Fran. Awesome. Check it out:

I saw this on an Amazon.com blog and just had to post it. If this whets your appetite for Big Wheels, here is our classic friend in all its glory:

Also, I heard that a Tulsa, Oklahoma area non-profit will be sponsoring a similar Big Wheel event to raise money to fight cancer on June 14, 2009– but I couldn't find any specifics about this year's race. The event is called The Tulsa Big Wheel. What a fun way to raise money fight cancer!

Okay, back to our regularly scheduled frugal programming. I just thought some of you might enjoy that little Big Wheel blast to the past like I did. :-)

Good Toy Deal at Amazon!

At our house, Mega Bloks are probably our most-loved toy. My son and daughter are close enough in age that they both really enjoy the blocks, and it is one of the toys that keeps them independently entertained for the longest periods of time!

So, I was super excited when I saw this great deal on Amazon:

"Through May 30th, purchase $30 of qualifying MEGA Brands items, and receive a free building set."

With this promotion, you can get $100 worth of Mega Bloks or STRUXX toys for a total of about $30 including shipping. If you have birthday parties coming up, this would be a great way to give a super-nice gift at a very reasonable cost! If you copy something similar to my transaction below, you could give three very nice gifts for about $10 each- great, considering one of them retails for up to $69.99!

Here's how it works:

When you purchase $30 of qualifying MEGA products (click on one of the sets below, then look for the link in the promotion box to find the list of qualifying products), you get to choose one of the following awesome sets free:

I was looking for a good, fresh toy to take with us for our extended stay with the kids' grandparents this summer, and I think this is just the ticket! Plus as an added bonus, I was able to purchase these items using Amazon gift cards I earned through Swagbucks!

Here's how my transaction worked out:

I purchased:

Plus, all qualified for Free Shipping (make sure to select "Free Super Saver Shipping"... it will not automatically select the free shipping for you at checkout!)

Final cost: $31.98- all paid with Amazon gift cards!

I was super pleased with this deal, since it cost me nothing out-of-pocket and provided just over $100 (original retail list price) worth of great toys to help keep my kids occupied this summer.

Hat tip to Hip 2 Save for pointing me toward this nice deal!

Personalized Children's Book: shipped for $.01

Click here to order a children's birthday book personalized with your child's name and three of his/her friends' names! Under a promotion that is for TODAY ONLY, the entire cost of the order (including shipping) will be only $.01. Limit one per household.

What a fun little birthday goodie for a little munchkin in your house!

Free one-day pass to Sam's Club

For any of you who have been considering warehouse club shopping but haven't yet purchased a membership, here's your chance to try it out, obligation free. Sam's Club is offering a coupon here for a free one-day trial membership to Sam's Club.

Even if you don't plan to join, this would be a great incentive to take advantage of. Sam's club has really good prices on some family essentials, like milk. My husband and I have a Sam's Club membership, and we have more than paid for the membership fee in what we saved on milk in the last year. Around our geographic area, we save about $.50 to $1 per gallon by buying at Sam's.

Enjoying checking out Sam's free for a day!

$5 Jennie-O Turkey Q

Right now, be one of the first 25,000 to register here and Jennie-O will send you a free coupon booklet including a $5 Q for Jennie-O turkey. My guess is that this will make for some free turkey for those who get this Q!

Reader tip: Free Dora Kids Vitamins at Walgreens

A Frugal Muse reader reported this clearance deal at Walgreens:

Dora Kids Vitamins by Centrum is clearanced down to $1.79 at some Walgreens, and some of the boxes even had $2/1 coupons attached to them, making them free! There are also some $2/1 Centrum coupons from recent inserts, which would also make this a nice freebie.

Hat tip to Sarah!

Free Coppertone Kids Sunblock at Fred Meyer

For those of you with a Fred Meyer nearby, be sure to pick up this great freebie at Fred Meyer this week:

Coppertone Kids sunblock sticks are on sale for $3.99. Plus, the store has $4/1 any Coppertone sun product manufacturer Qs on tearpads hanging on the sunblock displays. Free sunblock!

A couple of things to note:

• Your cashier may have to adjust the coupon down since it is one penny more than the sale price. My cashier at first told me that it wouldn't work. I politely told her that it should, and she called the manager and quickly found out how to do it. The more I coupon, the more I learn to stand my ground on a deal that is legitimate and ethical. The store will get back the full reimbursement for that coupon, so it is no different to the store than if I handed her $4 cash.

• You may not be able to find these sunblock sticks in the aisle with the beauty and cosmetic products, even though there is a small selection of sunblock there. I found them on a separate cardboard center-aisle display with the man. Q tearpads hanging on the display.

• I was able to snag 8 of these for free today! You could theoretically take everything they had in stock and get it free, but it's nice to leave some for the next person. If they are out, grab the tear pad Qs and ask for a rain check on the sale price.

Two more sites for printing the Kraft Qs

Great news! Even if you've already printed the high-value Kraft Qs from the Kraft website, you can still print a new set at coupons.com and smartsource.com.  This means that for each computer you have in your house, you should be able to print up to 6 of each coupon!

I recommend printing any Qs for products that you regularly buy or might buy in the next month, and I recommend that you print them as soon as possible! These high-value coupons always reach their print limits quickly, and you don't want to miss out..

I'm working on compiling a list of freebies and cheapies you can get at different stores with these Qs, so check back tonight or tomorrow for that!

Possible $.25 ibuprofen at Walgreens

According to a Texas reader at Money Saving Mom, the 24-count ibuprofen boxes are ringing up for only $.25 at her local Walgreens! This would be a great filler item for using RRs if this deal is working at your local store!

Reader tip: Good Deal on Weight Watchers Smart Ones meals

Thanks to one of our fantastic Frugal Muse readers for passing along this tip:

"Here's a coupon link for $4.00 off 10 smart one's meals from Weight Watchers. They have several varieties that are on rollback in Siloam Springs, Ark. for $1.00 each. I was able to get 20 of these meals for $12.00 ($.60 each) at Walmart yesterday. Just thought I'd pass along the savings."

I couldn't see the $4/10 Q on the site, so it may have changed or perhaps you just can't access the Q until you sign in. If anyone is able to take advantage of this deal, let us know.

Hat tip to Kristin!
