Super Savings Round-Up: Summer Clothes edition

I have hardly done any grocery/household shopping this week, so today's installment of Super Savings Round-Up will be all about summer clothes!

I don't know about you guys, but where my family is right now, it suddenly feels very HOT outside. I took advantage of some great sales this week to get my family and I some hot weather clothes that we really needed!

JCPenney:

Online Purchase:

Warners Tuxedo Satin Bra: Clearanced from $32 to $11.99
Used GR8DAD code online: - $10.00
Shipping: $4.50
Tax: $ .60
Total out of pocket: $7.09
rebates coming from Ebates: $5.08
Final cost after rebates and sales: $2.01

In Store Purchase:

a.n.a. Bermuda Shorts: Clearanced from $30 to $14.99
a.n.a. Short Sleeve Crossover top: Clearanced from $26 to $9.99
SJB Short Sleeve Poplin Print top: Clearanced from $26 to $12.99
Subtotal: $37.97
Extra 25% all clearance items: - $ 7.60
$10/any purchase coupon from home mailer: - $10.00
Tax: $ 1.88
Total out of pocket: $22.25

Old Navy:

By the time I got to Old Navy today, they did not have a SINGLE women's tank top left. But I was able to score some for my little princess:

(3) Toddlers tank tops @ $2 doorbuster price = $6
Tax: $.56
Total out of pocket: $6.56

Ross Dress for Less (Sorry.... didn't get a photo)
(As a side note: I learned an important personal lesson this week: when one's swimsuit
has seen 6 summers come and go and is consequently embarrassingly threadbare in rather important regions of the suit, it is perhaps time to invest in a new suit. It would also be
preferable if said swimsuit-wearer realized the compromised nature of her suit before wearing it in public. Ahem.)

Purchased:

Anne Klein Black twist-front one-piece swimsuit @ $9.99 (original retail price: $88)
Tax: $ .78
Total out of pocket: $10.77

Total retail list price of all items purchased: $221.50
My final cost after sales, coupons, and rebates (including tax): $41.59
% I saved off of regular retail price: 81%!

Great deal on Schwan's Frozen Foods

Are you familiar with Schwan's frozen food delivery? My parents have used this service quite a lot in the past. The food is high-quality, although a bit pricey. Enter Frugal Muse good news:

Right now, enter code D5 at checkout when shopping at Schwan's. This code will automatically take $5 off any Schwan's order, no minimum purchase! Order an item just over $5 (dozens to choose from: Many Veggies and Ice Creams are both about $5.50, or 18 ct. Bomb Pops are only $5.19)

Add the $1 delivery charge, and one item will be delivered to your door for just over $1. A pretty sweet deal for high quality frozen foods brought right to your door.

I just ordered a carton of ice cream using this deal. My final cost (including tax and shipping) was only $.58. The confirmation page said that a $1 delivery fee may or may not be added at the time of delivery, dependent on my location. Not too shabby!

Great Contest for a Great Cause!

How great is this?! Electrolux and Kelly Ripa are teaming up to spread the word about a new campaign to help raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. And it's so creative: you get to create a virtual lemonade stand online, and then sell virtual glasses of lemonade to your friends and family! To help spread the word, Electrolux is giving away a new French Door Refrigerator with Perfect Temp™ Drawer

Here's how it works:

• Go to www. electroluxappliances.com to design and build your own virtual lemodate stand. For every lemonade stand opened at this link, Electrolux will donate $1 to OCRF!

• Help the cause even more by selling virtual glasses of lemonade to your friends and family– and 100% of these proceeds go to OCRF!

As a member of a family who has been impacted by cancer and the importance of cancer research in a big way this past year, I wanted to pass along this contest and cause and encourage you to participate. Take a couple minutes today to create a virtual lemonade stand and help fund cancer research!

(4) M&Ms @ $.50
(1) Kerasol foot creme @ $7.99
(1) Meadow Gold 1/2 gallon of whole milk @ $1.29

Even though this is higher than my final cost usually is, I am still happy with it because I got restocked on everything I need to take care of my son's eczema: $20 of prescription meds, plus
a large tub of generic Eucerin, both of which would have cost me over $25 at Walmart. So I feel like I came out WAY ahead today!

Ebates: AWESOME REFERRAL DEAL!

Do you know about Ebates? When you sign up through Ebates and shop through their site links, you get 4% of every purchase in cash back from stores you are probably shopping occasionally anyway! PLUS, you will automatically get $5 cash back on your first purchase!

And now is the best possible time to try out Ebates, because right now they are also offering a huge referral bonus. Join Ebates and then refer three people, and you'll get $30 cash back! This is awesome!

Plus, here's another deal to combine with this Ebates offer to make it incredibly sweet:

JCPenney is one of the stores that you can shop in through the Ebates link. Right now, use the code GR8DAD to get $10 off any purchase of $10 or more, plus you'll get your $5 back from Ebates! Purchase something that costs just over $10, and you'll be able to get it for free and the $5 from Ebates will likely cover most or all of your shipping!**

Combining these types of deals is the best way to get things you need for your family free or extremely cheap. Awesome!

Here's how I worked this deal to get something I needed: a new bra!

I went to the Ebates link and clicked on the Stores tab. Then I selected JCPenney. Once inside the JCP site, I selected the Outlet tab and found a bra I liked priced at $11.99. At check-out, I used the code GR8DAD to take of $10. My final transaction looks like this:

Bra price: $11.99 (originally $32!)
Shipping: $4.50
Tax: $.60
Subtotal: $17.09
- $10 promo code:
Total out of pocket: $7.09
Rebates back from Ebates: $5.28
Final cost for this $32 bra, shipped: $1.81!

** Some things to note that I just saw on the Ebates payment information page: Ebates payment checks for purchases made by June 30 will be sent to you on August 15. In order for them to send you a check, you must have at least $5.01 of cash back in your account, which I'm thinking does not include your sign up bonus. So you may have to wait awhile before you accumulate enough rebates in your account before you can get a check, but it will get to you eventually when you keep shopping through the Ebates link when you do your normal online shopping.

Free Gatorade from Walgreens

Walgreens is giving away 500 free bottles of gatorade per day! To win yours, just be one of the first 500 to sign up here. You will need to enter between 1-5 friends' e-mail addresses, and then Walgreens will send you a coupon for a free 20 oz. bottle of Gatorade!

These freebies go quickly every morning; today I entered at 9:00 a.m. mountain time, and they were already gone for the day. So start early if you want to get yours! I'm not sure how long this promotion is lasting, but I'm guessing at least a few more days!
